Item Draft of Tanzania Development Vision 2050, Summary, 2024(Ministry of Finance, 2024-12) The United Republic of TanzaniaOver the past 25 years, Tanzania's development has been guided by the Tanzania Development Vision 2025 (Vision 2025), which aimed to elevate the the country to middle income status. This Vision focused on modernising agriculture,driving industrial transformation, developing infrastructure, and advancing technology.By 2020, Tanzania had achieved lower-middle-income status with a per capital income of USD 1,080 A 170 per cent increase since 2000. Significant progress was made in reducing extreme poverty, which fell from 36 per cent in 2000 to 26 per cent in 2022, and improving health and education outcomes. child stunting declined from 48 per cent in 2005 to 30 per cent in 2022, maternal mortality fell from 675 to 104 per 100,000 live birth over the same period. Primary school enrolment reached 100 per cent in 2020, accompanied by significant gains in secondary education enrolment.Item Tanzania Assistance Strategy, 2000(Ministry of Finance and Planning, 2000) Tanzania, United RepublicThe TAS process began in 1995, following a period of difficult relations between Tanzania and her Development Partners and the subsequent adoption of the recommendations of the Helleiner Report on Development Cooperation Issues. The third Strategic Plan, among others, comprises the Ministry’s interventions as specified in the Five-Year National Development Plan 2021/22 – 2025/26 (FYDP III) and aspirations of the Ruling Part Manifesto 2020. It presents the strategic direction of the Ministry in the next five years, particularly planning, budgeting, delivery, monitoring and evaluation as well as reporting processes. The Plan encompasses eight (8) strategic objectives, derived from the core functions and responsibilities of the Ministry. Nevertheless, it has been developed in accordance to the instructions and standards defined in the Medium- Term Strategic Planning and Budgeting Manual.Item Voluntary National Review (VNR)(Ministry of Finance and Planning, 2019) Tanzania, United RepublicIt is my pleasure to present the Voluntary National Review (VNR) of the United Republic of Tanzania, constituted by the Mainland and Zanzibar, on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The process of preparing the Review was consultative, participatory, iterative, transparent, inclusive and objective, engaging all stakeholders in the country i.e. the Central Government, Local Government Authorities, Parliament, the Judiciary, the Private Sector, Civil Society Organizations, research and academic institutions, think tanks, marginalized groups; and the United Nations System.
