dc.description.abstract	GDP in the first half (January to June) of 2017 expanded by 6.8 percent compared to a growth rate of 7.7 percent observed in the corresponding period in 2016. Sectors which recorded impressive performance included communication, transport and construction. The slowdown in growth was mainly due to decrease in lending to private sector which affected the economic activities.	en_US
