Abstract
The Government Loans, Guarantees and Grants Act, CAP 134, requires the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania to prepare a debt management strategy and an annual borrowing plan. In this regard, the Ministry of Finance and Planning in collaboration with the Bank of Tanzania prepared a Medium Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDS) in December 2017. This MTDS was prepared with technical assistance from the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI), using the IMF/World MTDS analytical tool
