Report on the Implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action for LDC’s for the Decade During the fourth United Nations Conference on LDCs, held in May 2011 in stanbul, Turkey, the Heads of State and Government resolved the need for a successor to the 2001-2010 Brussels Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries. The new programme of action was meant to overcome structural challenges characterizing LDCs’ economies among other efforts to eradicate poverty, achieve internationally agreed development goals, and enable countries to graduate away from the LDC category. As a result, the Istanbul Programme of Action was adopted. Tanzania is one of the 47 LDCs which signed and implemented the IPoA agenda. 2011-2020en_US
