Updated with annual progress reports, they describe the countries macroeconomic, structural, and social policies in support of growth and poverty reduction, as well as associated external financing needs and major sources of financing. This country document for the United Republic of Tanzania, dated July 2010, is being available on the IMF website by agreement of the member country as a service to users of the IMF website.Item National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty II NSGRP II(Ministry of Finance, 2010) The United Republic of TanzaniaThis is the Second National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP II) to be implemented between 2010/11 and 2014/15. In the Tanzanian lingua franca, Kiswahili, it is known as Mpango wa Pili wa Kukuza Uchumi na Kuondoa Umaskini Tanzania or MKUKUTA II. As with MKUKUTA I (2005/06 – 2009/10) the focus continues to be that of accelerating economic growth, reducing poverty, improving the standard of living and social welfare of the people of Tanzania as well as good governance and accountability. MKUKUTA II, like its predecessor, is a vehicle for realizing Tanzania’s Development Vision 2025, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the aspirations of the ruling Party’s Election Manifesto.
